With a test key (dk_pub_test_… or dk_sec_test_…) every check runs exactly as it does live — prices, sales, coupons, stock, the store's plan — but no real order is made.
What a test order does
- It gets a number like
#TEST-K3P9QXand the same answers a live order would. - No stock moves, no SMS is sent, no Pixel event fires, and nothing appears in the store's Orders.
- It can be tracked (
orders.track) and found in "my orders" with the same phone. - It disappears after 7 days.
Fixed values
So you can build the code screens without real SMS:
| Value | |
|---|---|
| Phone that always asks for a checkout code | 01700000001 |
| Checkout code | 000000 |
| "My orders" code | 0000 |
Any other phone places the test order straight away.
Abandoned carts and visits
leads.capture and visits.ping answer { ok: true, test: true } with a test key and store nothing, so a developer's testing never shows up in the merchant's Incomplete Orders or live-visitors view.
Going live
Swap the test key for a live one; nothing else changes. Run the going-live checklist first.
